April Pre-Cana Class Now Full!

The April 24 marriage preparation class is now full and we are only accepting registrations for the August class at this time.

Diocesan Young Adult Ministry

On Thursday, March 18 at 7:00 PM, Rev. Scott Seethaler, O.F.M. Cap., will launch a new Young Adult Ministry program being piloted by the Diocesan Department for Youth and Young Adult Ministry.  The program, called Pizza and Possibilities, invites young adults to gather together for pizza and to learn concrete ways they can share their gifts and talents in service to others.  All young adults (18-40) are invited to gather at Sacred Heart Parish in Shadyside.  The cost for the event is $5.  To register, please contact Gary Slifkey at 412-456-3140.

Seven Church Pilgrimage

Join us as we seek to imitate Christ and travel the Via Dolorosa (the Way of Suffering).  Reservations are now being taken for our annual Seven Church Pilgrimage.  Our pilgrimage will take us to St. James in Sewickley, Good Samaritan in Ambridge, St. John the Baptist in Baden, Our Lady of Peace in Conway, Our Lady of Fatima in Hopewell, SS Peter and Paul in Beaver, and St. John the Baptist in Monaca.  There will be prayers from the Stations of the Cross prayed in each church.  The bus will depart the parking lot immediately after the 6:30 PM Mass on Holy Thursday and return to St. Joseph Church following the pilgrimage.  The cost is $5 per person.  Please call Kathy at the Rectory to make a reservation.

Diocesan Safe Environment

We have been asking all volunteers in recent years to have their clearances.  As a reminder, all Parish and School adult volunteers must complete the Diocesan Safe Environment Packet in order to continue in your ministry.  If you are a Eucharistic Minister, Usher, Lector, Cantor, CCD Teacher, Wedding Coordinator, Council Member or School Parent and have not gotten your clearances yet, please contact the Parish Office to receive a packet.  We will be starting this month to ask those who do not complete this process to step back from their ministry until it is completed.  Please contact the Rectory with any questions.

Food Pantry

Our food pantry is in need of peanut butter, jelly, cereal, spaghetti sauce and pasta noodles.  If you can help, please drop off your items in the basket at the back of the church.  Your generosity benefits families in need of food on an emergency basis.

Easter Flower Booklet

Please remember to turn in your Easter flower envelopes in memory or honor of your loved ones by Monday, March 22.  We will be creating a booklet of all those remembered which will be available at the Easter Masses.  Please print the names clearly and please keep names to one short line.  Thank you.

Pre-Baptism Class

Our next Pre-Baptism Class has been scheduled for Saturday, March 27.  Please call Kathy at the Rectory to register.
