Altar Servers
Boys and girls assist the priests at
Sunday and weekday Masses, funerals, weddings, Stations of
the Cross and other special events. Current servers
range from students in Grades 3 to 12. Please contact

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy
Communion
The Extraordinary Ministers of Holy
Communion assist the pastor in two ways: they help with the
distribution of Communion during Mass and they also take
Communion to the homebound of the parish and those in
the surrounding hospitals. There are currently over 40
Extraordinary Ministers at St. Joseph Church. A short
training session is required. They are distinguished
by their Christian life, faith and morals. Please

Lectors
The lector can be traced back to the
“Temple Readers” of Biblical times. Jesus Himself had
proclaimed the Holy Scriptures in the synagogue, as was
Jewish custom. Today, throughout the world, the lector
(or reader) is an integral part of the lay ministry of
the Church; proclaiming the Word of the Lord in the Liturgy
of the Mass. Lectors are instructed through the parish
and are scheduled monthly. Please contact the Rectory
